Olivia Ku is a Los Angeles–based SAG-AFTRA Intimacy Coordinator with more than 100 film, television, and vertical content projects to her credit in just the past two years. Building on her background as an actor and stand-in on major studio productions, as well as her work as a survivor advocate for individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, Olivia is dedicated to creating safer, consent forward, and more collaborative sets.
What is intimacy coordinating?
Pre-production
Review scripts and create an intimacy breakdown; meet with the director to align on vision; hold performer meetings to discuss intimacy content, boundaries, assess support needed; review contracts and riders; coordinate with department heads; and align the entire team on best practices and protocols.
On Set
Coordinate with department heads, oversee closed-set protocols, rehearsals with director and actors, and choreograph intimacy scenes, and while maintaining a safer environment that upholds performer consent, reduces risk for production, and supports director and the story.
Post production
Consult on edits as needed to ensure the final cut honors established agreements, support ADR, and any additional intimacy scene related needs after production wraps.
